The Center for Religious Studies (CRS) at CEU sees itself as a hub for the historical and comparative study of religion and religions.
To mark the center’s 20th anniversary, a workshop entitled “Whither the Study of Religion” will take place on 7 May 2026. In this context, Prof. Dr José Casanova will deliver a keynote address entitled “Religion in the Public Sphere Thirty Years After the Publication of Public Religions in the Modern World”. Prof. Dr Karsten Lehmann will then take part in a panel discussion on the topic.
