In September 2016, the professorship of HS-Prof. Dr. Karsten Lehmann was established with the designation “Interreligiosity”. This designation made it clear that the KPH Vienna / Lower Austria is providing academic support for the paradigm shift towards interreligious competence - as a cross-disciplinary field of action.
HS-Prof. Lehmann is a Scholar of Religion as well as a Sociologist by training. The new designation reflects this broad qualification. At the same time, it emphasizes that Karsten Lehmann's research focuses in particular on the areas of time-diagnostics and education.
This is documented not least in the concrete work of the Special Research Area “Interreligiousity” (SIR), which Karsten Lehmann is heading since 2016.
